the movement project, Run Grateful & ROAR Run Club bring you MoveBEDFORD; a day of uplifting movement. Come to the morning or afternoon session or make a day of it.
Bedford Park, Bedford. Behind the Pavilion. The precise location will be sent on registration.
We'll be training outside, whatever the weather, come rain or shine. We believe that training outside is where we can connect with our environment better and takes us out of the comfort of a heated indoor space. We were designed to move outside and we honour that.
9.45am | Registration.
Meet the team and settle in.
10.00am | Movement Session.
Neil has a lifetime of experience as a coach and is a L2 MovNat certified trainer. He will guide you through a movement workshop which draws upon yoga, natural movement, physical puzzles and a continuous search of flow state.
This session is for all entry points with no specific experience required.
12noon | Refuel.
We'll take a break, refuel and take time to hang out with the group to forge new connections and friendships.
12.45pm | Unlock your connection to nature.
We’ll be exploring the more-than-human-world and increasing our sense of wonder through a nature journalling workshop. Take cues from nature to awaken the senses, reflect and engage with our surroundings to find calm.
1.30pm | Grateful Mile: Run, jog or walk with Run Grateful & the ROAR Run Club
As part of our 'Move' days we like to get out in to nature. We can connect with ourselves and our environment. Conversations emerge - inspiration shared. If you want to come to this part of the day without attending the morning or nature connection session, you can do so for free - just let us know you're coming on email.
Mark White, founder of Run Grateful will tell us about the Grateful Mile. A project to spread gratitude and how this will change the way you view your movement practise. We'll then split in to three groups:
Confident runners will hit the trails with Graham from ROAR Run Club. He knows a thing or two about running, having completed numerous Ultra Marathon across the UK.
If running is new to you, Mark will lead you on a gentle run/walk. Mark is no stranger to long distance running but epitomises our 'no-one left behind' philosophy when it comes to movement.
For hikers, Neil accidentally completed 2 back-to-back ultra marathons in 2021 and still maintains he's not really a 'proper runner' so if you prefer to head out into nature without the need or desire to run, he can guide you through a wonderful woodland loop. No-one will be left behind.
We run or run/walk or walk to connect, to flow, to listen, to share. If we walk, we're still moving. If we stop, we're still together
3.00pm | All back to base camp to close
It's worth mentioning that you should bring snacks and any specialist food items you might need.
Toilets are situated within the park.
We can lock spare kit away in a vehicle while we head out on the trails in the afternoon
